Eight races from the 2018 SCCA National Championship Runoffs will be broadcast in December
For the second year in a row, households throughout the United States will be able to experience the excitement of SCCA racing when select 2018 National Championship Runoffs events from Sonoma Raceway air on CBS Sports Network in December. Two of those races, the combined Formula Enterprises and Formula Enterprises 2 contest and the Spec Miata race, will be of special interest to Mazda enthusiasts.
The broadcasts, presented by Mazda, will also include F Production, which – although won by Joe Huffaker Jr. in a Midget – featured several Mazdas, including a third-place finish by Charlie Campbell in a Miata. Formula Enterprises/FE2 has its initial airing at 1 p.m. Eastern time this Sunday, Dec. 9. Spec Miata airs Dec. 23 at 9 p.m. Eastern, and F Production will be a week later at 7 p.m. Eastern. In addition, all eight races will be re-broadcast that same day, Dec. 30 – including the three above, plus Spec Racer Ford Gen3, Formula Vee, Formula F/Formula 500, Formula Continental and GT-2.
Each separate race, produced by Apex Broadcast for the 10th year in a row, will be 60 minutes in length and anchored by longtime Runoffs announcer Greg Creamer. Additional commentary is supplied by Ryan Myrehn (SportsCar365 writer), Tom O’Gorman (pro driver), Andy Hollis and Larry MacLeod (SCCA Solo Nationals announcers), and Heyward Wagner (pit reporter). All broadcast times are Eastern and the schedule is subject to change. Check cable or satellite TV providers for local CBS Sports Network channels.
