British racer Oliver Rowland will join Sebastien Buemi for the Nissan e.dams Formula E team debuting in season five of the all-electric street racing championship.

Rowland, 26, drove for the team during the recent preseason test in Valencia, Spain. He replaces Alex Albon, who was announced by the team in September before being named to Toro Rosso’s second Formula 1 seat this week.

“The Formula E championship features some of the best drivers in the world, and it’s an honor to be selected by Nissan e.dams to represent them in season five,” Rowland said. “To be able to work alongside Sebastien is also an incredible opportunity. I’m looking forward to challenging myself against the best of the best in Formula E.”

The lineup was announced during an official team launch at Nissan Crossing in Tokyo, which featured the debut of the all-new, racing-inspired Nissan LEAF NISMO RC.

Buemi, 30, spent the past four seasons as a driver with Renault e.dams, clinching the 2015/2016 driver’s championship. Among his accomplishments are the series records in wins, poles, most laps led, races led, fastest laps, consecutive wins, most wins in a season and consecutive point-scoring finishes.

Mitsunori Takaboshi was announced as the team’s test and reserve driver. Former Nissan GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough will be the team’s official simulator driver.
