Cup schedule tweaked as rain cancels first practice

For now, it’s rain 2, Cup Series 0.

After rain washed out qualifying Friday afternoon, a persistent mist kept the track wet and prevented Cup Series cars from getting on track for the scheduled 50-minute morning session.

Instead, a final practice is now scheduled (weather permitting) from 1-2:20 p.m. ET. Kyle Busch will start from the pole for Sunday’s race as the lineup for the Gander Outdoors 400, the first race in the Round of 12, has been set by owner points.

Xfinity Series qualifying is scheduled to start at 12:20 p.m. ET and will be shortened to one round.
