Harvick, Larson lead morning Michigan practice

Kevin Harvick and Kyle Larson hit the 200mph mark in the second practice session for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series at Michigan International Speedway.

The best lap for Harvick was 200.719mph and Larson laid down 200.083mph.

Ford drivers Joey Logano (199.800mph), Clint Bowyer (199.723mph), and Brad Keselowski (199.529mph) completed the top five. Last weekend’s winner, Martin Truex Jr., was sixth fastest at 199.424mph.

Rounding out the top 10 were Kyle Busch at 199.352mph, rookie William Byron at 199.325mph, polesitter Kurt Busch at 198.824mph, and Erik Jones at 198.665mph.

Busch and Jones were among those who ran the second-most laps in the session (30). Aric Almirola, who was 13th-fastest in the session, ran the most laps at 31.

The session was cut short by approximately six minutes because of rain.
