Final practice at Pocono Raceway was more of the same for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series when it came to those at the top of the leaderboard.
The two winningest drivers so far this year topped the leaderboard, Kyle Busch, and Kevin Harvick. Then came the reigning champion, Martin Truex Jr.
Busch was fastest with a lap of 174.588 mph, with Harvick clocking in at 174.115 mph. Truex wound up third with a lap of 173.953 mph.
Busch was also fastest in Friday’s practice session.
Completing the top five were Alex Bowman (173.658 mph) and Aric Almirola (173.568 mph).
Filling out the rest of the top 10 were Kyle Larson (173.461 mph), Ryan Blaney (173.360 mph), Clint Bowyer (173.337 mph), Joey Logano (173.330 mph) and Jamie McMurray (173.227 mph). Blaney will start the race from the pole and is looking for back-to-back wins at Pocono.
There was only one incident during the 1 hour, 20-minute session.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. went for a spin off Turn 2 early in practice. However, Stenhouse avoided contact with the outside wall and later returned to the track for additional practice runs. He finished the session 19th fastest at 172.503 mph.
