Three Verizon IndyCar Series teams and four drivers fit in a quick visit to Sebring on Tuesday before their transporters make the two-hour trek northwest to St. Petersburg, site of this weekend’s championship curtain raiser.
Based on unofficial timing and scoring data, Michael Shank Racing’s Jack Harvey and Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais were on the same lap time of 51.3s to lead DCR’s Zachary Claman De Melo and Harding Racing’s Gabby Chaves, who completed the quartet in similar fashion with a shared lap time of 51.8s.

“Started out pretty good, the track felt pretty fast, we managed to find some things that didn’t work, and then we found a couple of things that were useful,” Bourdais told RACER. “The track was better in the morning when Jack set his best time, then the wind kicked up in the afternoon, so it slowed down a few tenths there but we made our car better so we were able to match the morning’s best.”
