For three days, the story of Ayrton Senna will come to life on stage in “Ayrton Senna, The Musical (Ayrton Senna, O Musical),” set to open at the Riachuelo Rio Theatre in Rio de Janeiro on Friday and running through Sunday Nov. 12, the weekend of Formula 1’s Brazilian Grand Prix.
The production, made in partnership with the Senna family, is presented by Aventura Entretenimento, a company whose credits include the Brazilian productions of “Hair!,” “The Sound of Music” and “The Wizard of Oz.”
Led by actor Hugo Bonemer, the 25-person cast will help present Senna’s life using contemporary dance, aerial and pendulum acts and through light and sound design.
“To talk about Ayrton Senna we have to fly high,” said Aniela Jordan, Aventura’s managing director.
