IndyCar: Saavedra set for KVSH race seat

By

As RACER‘s Marshall Pruett predicted last week, Sebastian Saavedra will again be a full-time IndyCar driver and stay teammates with Sebastien Bourdais.

Saavedra will be named for the second car at KVSH Racing on Wednesday during a teleconference. The 23-year-old Colombian is expected to continue to receive financial help from Gary Peterson, the AFS Racing owner who has sponsored Saavedra since his Indy Lights days.

Saavedra contested all 19 races in 2013 for Dragon Racing as Bourdais’ teammate with a best finish of eighth at Baltimore but had several other good runs cut short by mechanical failure or accidents. This will give IndyCar 23 full-timers as it prepares for next month’s season opener at St. Pete.
