IndyCar driver Graham Rahal will race a BMW Z4 for his father Bobby’s team for the first time in the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The 25-year-old, who is entering his second IndyCar season with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in 2014, will team up with Dirk Muller, John Edwards and Dirk Werner in one of the pair of factory BMW Team RLL entries in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship opener on Jan. 25-26. A place in the team for Rahal has now been confirmed after he took place in the official pre-event test at the start of January.
Rahal, a former outright winner of the 24 Hours with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2011, previously raced a Porsche for his father’s team in two American Le Mans Series enduros in 2006.
The other Rahal BMW Z4 GT Le Mans entry will be shared at Daytona by Andy Priaulx, Bill Auberlen, Joey Hand and Maxime Martin. Priaulx and Auberlen are the full-season drivers in the #55 entry, while Hand and Edwards will again split driving duties alongside Muller in the #56 car.
