UK-based Woodard Racing Organisation has announced a return to endurance racing in 2014 with an HPD ARX-03b. In addition to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the team will contest both the European Le Mans Series and the Asian Le Mans series. A multi-season deal will see the Honda combo and WRO committed to contesting these series for the next two years.

“We are extremely pleased to have reached agreement with a major manufacturer like Honda,” said team boss Daniel Woodard said. “Motor racing is in their DNA. In 2012 they won at Le Mans and the WEC. We believe we can develop a strong and successful team through this collaboration. Our belief in them is reinforced by the latest test results from Daytona, where they are the fastest P2.”

ELMS GTE champion Johnny Mowlem is rejoining theteam for the ELMS element of their program. “To have Johnny on board again is fantastic, he is very experienced and professional in his approach to everything motor racing and we believe he has much to contribute the team,” added Woodard. “We are in detailed discussions with several other drivers and I hope to be in a position to finalize the driver lineup shortly.”

Mowlem commented, “It’s good to be back driving with the team. We share many long-term objectives and the agreement with Honda bodes well for the future.”

HPD Technical Director Roger Griffiths added: “HPD is excited to welcome the Woodard Racing Organization as the latest addition to the Honda sports car  family. We see both the European Le Mans Series and newly invigorated Asian Series as highly competitive championships and an ideal place to showcase the performance of the HPD ARX-03b powered by it’s Honda direct injection V6 twin turbo engine. We look forward to WRO enjoying a successful first season with us.”
