DTM driver Filipe Albuquerque (pictured) and former FIA GT1 world champion Markus Winkelhock have been placed with the Flying Lizard squad by Audi for the Daytona 24 Hours later this month.
Albuquerque and Winkelhock, who will respectively drive the #35 and #45 Audi R8 LMS GTD class contenders, are among five drivers from the German manufacturer’s so-called GT pool who will contest the United SportsCar Championship opener at Daytona on January 25-26.
Audi LMP1 driver Oliver Jarvis will race for the Fall-Line Motorsports squad, while Frank Stippler and Marc Basseng will contest the race with GMG Racing.
Rene Rast and Christopher Haase will drive for Paul Miller Racing, which like Flying Lizard is switching from Porsche to Audi this season.
Albuquerque renews his partnership with Dion von Moltke that yielded a class victory at Daytona last year with the Alex Job Racing team. They share with Lizards team boss Seth Neimen and Anglo-Italian Alessandro Latif.
Winkelhock drives with Tim Pappas, Nelson Canache Jr and Spencer Pumpelly.
