Following yesterday’s announcement by Pickett Racing that it would return to the LMPC category next season, fellow ALMS heavyweight Level 5 Motorsports, which won the P2 class this year with team owner Scott Tucker, says it is looking to run in both PC and GT on a customer basis in 2014’s TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
Tucker, who won the PC division of the ALMS in 2010, is unlikely to contest a full season of TUSCC events next season. The team has three new ORECA FLM09s, and has also purchased two Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 cars for the GTD class. It also retains its pair of HPD ARX-03b LMP2s and two Lolas it ran in 2011.
“We’re expecting there will be a good representation of drivers for testing at Sebring from both America and Europe,” Level 5 team manager David Stone said. “We’re very flexible as far as future options are concerned. Rebranding the team to tailor to a customer’s desire is an option. With credentials like ours, we’re confident that people will trust us to get the job done for them.”
